What my DNA can tell about me? If I want my genes tested, how and where can I do it? What can be seen from my genetic profile, and what cannot? Have my genes set my well-being and behaviour? What about social status, is it inheritable? Why should Finland have a national gene bank?The next club night will take place on 19th November at Korjaamo.
The night’s movie Genetic Me (directed by Pernille Rose Grønkjær) takes us on a journey to understand the science of who we are as an individuals and as humans. In the Film Danish science journalist Lone Frank travels around the world to meet leading researchers in the area, so she could better understand her own fickle personality – and maybe change it.
After the film there will be a discussion about genetic testing, heredity and behavioural genetics. The discussion will be in Finnish.
The evening is held in cooperation with Suomen itsenäisyyden juhlarahasto, Sitra.
