DocPoint Audience Award Goes to My Secret Forest

The audience had an opportunity to vote for their favourite film in the New Finnish Premieres programme series. This year the audience’s favourite Finnish film was My Secret Forest (Salainen metsäni) by Niina Brandt.

The film tells about the 20-year-old Lauri, who is a philosophical young man, dreaming of love. He is also autistic, and only able to express himself with the help of hispersonal interpreter, Pirjo. Through his writings, how ever, Lauri notices that he is able to verbalise certain beauty in the world, a beauty that goes unnoticed by many others.

The Audience Award is a monetary prize sponsored by Veikkaus.

The winner film is screened on festival Sunday 29th Jan at 2 p.m. in Korjaamo Elokuvasali. Tickets are available for the screening.
