Young adults brought up on farms in rural Finland ponder with their parents about their future as successors of their family farms. Strong tradition of continuity still holds sway in many families, but the increasingly unreliable future has made some of the young to doubt whether taking over makes sense. Even though there’s hope for a better future, many farms have already been closed. But where some see threats, others see great opportunities and are willing to invest for the future.
